Hi well im Joanna,im age 28,but have suffered depression, ocd, socisl anxiety, suicidal, and so on,i am now on tablets for this, but people wanted to help me but i wouldnt let them,i pushed them away, until i wanted the help myself,no one could help me,when i was suicidal it was a cry for help realy,i didnt want to die,i was in a bad place at that time stuff going on,what is going on in your friends life?and until ur friend wants the help herself theres nothing u can do,sometimes the best way to get through to someone u care for is write ur friend a letter, tell her ur there for her and so on,and take it from there, step a side maybe, and ur friend will come to you and ask for ur help, then u will be there for her, someone i knew took there own life, cause off being bullied,no one could help, wat is the root off ur friends problems?takecare x
You did the right thing by your friend, and she is in the best possible place for her right now. She can't fool the doctors, they can tell if she is suicidal and needs help, they are trained to see these things in people. Your friend may feel like she hates you now, but once she is well, she will know who to thank. At least your friend is safe from harming herself, and will be given psychiatric help while there. It may be best to not visit her right away, she may need time to reflect on all this. The way you have to look at it is, you may have lost a friend, but saved a life, and that is what's most important here. If you do visit her and she gets abusive or wants to argue, just tell her you care, and leave. There's no reason to stick around and keep this going, it does none of you any good. Keep in mind that during the hospital's evaluation of her, they found reason to keep her. They didn't keep her on just what you said. If she gets out and you hear that she is still talking suicide then talk to her parents, there is only so much you can do as friends, sad but true. You did the right thing, so know this. She too, will eventually realize it also. Just be patient and give her time.
