Need professional help??

I've been generally depressed for about three years due to a traumatic situation with my father, and in 6 days it'll be five months since I lost a close friend to cystic fibrosis. I've struggled with self harm for two and a half years, and I've been incredibly anxious and fearful about my life. I lose sleep at night thinking of things completely made up in my head, and I think I might have depression?
I'm a 14 year old female btw.

I also have a traumatic situation with my father and I totally relate to what you said. I think you need to see someone... A psychologist or a close friend who you can confide in and speak to. You musn't be lonely in situations like these. That only increases the risk of self harm and more dagerous things and thoughts.

hi ashton
talk to a local doctor (GP) and ask for some advice. I've had anxiety and fearful thoughts due to a trauma and it's really awful. But it really is best to get some help.

There are some good medications for anxiety which can help in the short term.

Excessive worry and anxiety can cause people to build up irrational fears about what "might" happen in the future. So often these fears are never likely to come true but our racing thoughts take over.

Speak to a doctor. Don't be embarrassed as this is more common than you'd think. :)

No, I'm not in therapy. Most of the time, it's randomly triggered by a saying or just simply someone's presence.

Are you in therapy?  When you know, or think you know, what caused you to feel bad, therapy is the best solution because you know what to work on.
