What is CLINICAL depression

What is the difference between depression and clinical depression?

I found out clinical depression is the term used for people suffering with depression as opposed to just feeling depressed...

It's my understanding that clinical depression is just a more severe depression. There's a specific criteria you need to meet to be diagnosed with this.

i may be wrong here, but i think clinical depression is when you are depressed and there reallly is nothing in particular that should be causing the depression you are having---such as a divorce or a death of someone close, a job loss, etc.

i have fibromyalgia and alot of depression.  i read an article once that statted that the depression you get with fibro is NOT clinical depression--there is a physical cause for it---but the pharmacist told me that there is a physical cause for ALL depression---so i don't know where that puts clinical depression.
