I think your talking about herbals because I don't recognize either as being any synthetic Psychotropic drug I have ever heard of. Then again in the UK they have many different names for the same meds we have here.
As with all herbal suppliments that claim they vaporize Major depression, be careful about putting too much stock in their ability to effect a theraputic response.
Most often they do very little for most people. I have tried many myself with no luck and others tell me the same. If your depression is very mild they may offer a slight boost in mood but thats about all.
Protozan is an herbal used for depression, and amoryn a natural formula for depression. These remedies are not regulated like medications, although they are starting to look closer at them. They may have some serious side effects that are unknown, and I would avoid them. If you feel depressed, I agree that you need to see a psychiatrist to determine this, and he would know if medication is needed or maybe just therapy or both. Sometimes just talking about what's going on, helps you put things in perspective and improve on how you are feeling. You may just be in a rut, but you need to find out.
We're always here to talk and listen, and know you're not alone. Take care....
Google cannot find the first one at all so perhaps check the name and spelling. The seond is an over the counter natural alternative to anti depressants.
These alternatives are not usually helpful at all and the best of them really is only suitable for mild problems.
How do you know it's depression? Have you been diagnosed or just self assessed? You could be right of course but the best way to deal with it is to see a doctor and get a professional opinion. Meds are not the first choice from my perspective as they actually don't cure depression anyway. They are like headache tablets only but necessary for people like myself.
Therapy, self assesment and resolving life issues is more frequently succesful for many than any other solution.
Perhaps some more info may allow more to respond with more details.
