Can someone help me read this diagnostic impression? Any clues?
Axis 1: 1: 29633 major depressive disorder, recurrent, severe without psychotic features.
2: 3004 dysthymic disorder.
3: 30390 alcohol dependence.
Axis 1: (rule out)
1: 29680 bipolar disorder nos
Axis 2: (rule out)
1: 3019 personality disorder nos
Axis 3: multiple medical issues
Axis 4:current stressors are severe.
Axis 5: current: 00050 baseline 00065

It likely means you have a mood disorder but it show no signs of bipolar or Border Line Personality Disorder. You are always urged to get a second opinion on a diagnosis. If you are not bipolar or BPD it is good and you still need medicines and treatment is the symptoms get worse. If you do research you will find that any mood disorder if untreated can worsen. Good Luck and stay positive. A diagnosis is just that. It is not a label or a projection of who you are.
