i feel like i am in hell

I am a young teenager and I am feeling like nobody loves me and I feel I am in hell because every day I pray to god that this day will be better but so far my  life has been terrible and it became worse when my sister started being mean to even though she is younger and when I talk to my parents they defend her and it feels like they love her more than me and I am afraid that they do and I just hate how I can't be enough for them to love and the only time I feel like they pay a lot of attention to me is when I get good grades and the worst part is only my doctors know I have depression nd it seems like they would not care so am I in hell or is god playing a sick joke on me

I know it seems like there's absolutely nothing you can do, but trust me - things get better, but sometimes you have to start the change. It's good that your doctor knows, please talk to them or a friend if something is bothering you. Parents have a different way of showing affection than you probably need from them, so try sitting them down and telling them what you need to be happy, because good parents don't like to see their children suffer. Don't forget to listen to music or do whatever makes you happy, you're important in this world.

And trust me, as someone who has seasonal depression, it's very important to get out in the sun. It truly does affect your mind and how you think.

It'll get better! I promise.

Hello, what would help this situation that you can control? It seems like your parents have a different way of expressing how they care to you and your sister- most households it is definitely not equal!

It is difficult to not feel heard- most people when they treat others unequally in this way, like your parents are doing, they have no idea that they are doing it. They are likely not self-aware enough, but you seem to be quite aware of the situation.

Is there anything you do out of the house (activities, sports, seeing friends, music) that makes you feel loved. Is there anyone who recognizes you for your efforts, like your friends?

I thank you for your advice and u take it to heart but I have one question how do you tell if somebody has a good soul because when I give back to people even family something bad happens for instance I spent 300 dollars on my sister to see her happy and then she took something important to me an broke it when playing with it and she just for something else to play with like the thing that mattered to me was nothing what can I do?

Family problems are very stressful.  Siblings can be very mean.  If your sister had a good heart and u take her aside and nicely tell her how her words and actions are causing u to get ill she might stop behaving badly to you.  Maybe you can ask your dad if he would like to go bowling or some activity he will do that with you.  And just go over and hug your mom and tell her u love her.  Ask her if she'll make u your favorite meal.  Tel her she looks pretty.  Maybe u need to take the initiative because they don't know u r suffering.  Also I agree that u need to reach out to a professional adult.  Maybe you can find some kind of spinster person u can call and who will talk u through your tough times.  Hang out with friends more they r probably having the same troubles u have.  Whatever happens you are a good soul and are here to do great things in the world and eventually u will have your own family,  you are young.  Keep your eye on the prize.  This will pass I promise and don't forget it.  Hang in there kid

I would suggest you talk to your guidance counselor at school or a teen hotline for help. You will probably need to tell your parents you are depressed and see a therapist. Being a teen us tough but you will get through it with help. Please ask for and get the help you need. Best wishes.

God is not playing a joke on you. You are going through a hard time and stage in life and you need someone to talk to. You need to find someone like a parent, counselor, pastor or someone to help you through this and learn how top cope with it. Once you learn how, it will be easier moving forward.
