Did you figure out what's wrong? My mother has your same symptoms. Prescribed antidepressants but says thats not it!

Antidepressants are trial and error. Some can make you feel funky for a bit. Although, what these symptoms actually sound like to me is that the medication isn't actually working well. And these are symptoms that relate to mental health. I think maybe a med change or dosage increase would help your mom? And something else to look into is adrenal fatigue. This can cause these symptoms as well. I'll share information on that if you are interested

thankyou

yes this drug is hardcore. I have only had it for 2 nights (15mg each time) and i feel likea zombie.  i have no energy, i cant concentrate or think i have brain fog and it has made me dpressed.  i feel very stupid aswell

the doctor  (who i have only seen once ) prescribed after going through all my blood tests and coming up with the diagnosis that my brain has low serotonin... even though there is no test for this...i havent even felt that depressed in the past..i was abit but it was because i have been sick for so long, with no diagnosis so naturally i was down..but after this drug i feel very very depressed..

i have had a lumbar puncture... they saideverthing was normal. but they were looking for brain infection not sure if sertonin was looked at.

anyway should i stop taking this stuff or will these sides go away and will i feel great ina  few weeks.

I am concerned about your doctors choice of Remeron for you.

Is Remeron an effective antidepressant drug? Yes, it is for many people, but I can not advocate Remeron as a first line AD medication for someone like you that is new to the illness of depression and also new to AD medication.

I am taking Remeron now also, but only because after years of building resistance to "more standard SSRI and SNRI" treatment I have to take a Tetra-cyclic like Remeron to get a response.

What do you think about this rltz? I think it's a poor med choice for samb180b.

You have to take Remeron at night before bed. It is a MUST. I must mention that I have taken a lot of different AD medications in my life, but YES, this Remeron will knock your *** in the dirt right after you take it. This side effect is then gone by morning and that's when the theraputic effect of Remeron is working and helping.

Very important thing to know about Remeron. From the time you take it to about 8 hours after each dosage, IT WILL KICK YOUR ***.

Thats why only before bed each night, NEVER any other time. You sleep during the Zombi stage of the drugs action. Then you wake up and it's working like a champ for the whole day.

If you are new to depression and AD meds, you would be MUCH better on for example, Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, or other less invasive SSRI's.

I don't even think Effexor (SNRI) should be prescribed unless at least two SSRI's have failed.

Going right for Remeron? No way, that's like pulling out an M1A1 Abrams main battle Tank just to shoot one terrorist. A sniper (SSRI) will do the trick just as well with much less side effects.

Talk about going for broke. This Doctor needs to get a clue.

I don't blame you for feeling like **** on Remeron. If I were given this drug as my first AD medication....OMG! I would have had serious problems too.

Is this a Board Certified Psychiatrist that is treating you? My Psychiatrist wouldn't even let me touch a Tri-cyclic or Tetra-cyclic AD medication until all other options failed.

I must say that I can releate to your symptoms.

When I first started experiencing the symptoms of depression they started with severe anxiety, then weeks later by a strange "off balance" tyoe of feeling, Kind of like dizzyness, but not like the kind you get from spinning in circles.

My vision also seemed skewed. (hard to explain) it's like I could see fine, but everything took on kind of a different look. It was very scary because I didn't understand what was going on with me. Then of course the deep depression followed, I had no appitite, couldn't sleeep and if I did it was at weird hours.

I also had headaches, especially in the morning, and very bad nausea too.

It got so bad that I because suicidal and was put in the hospital. During that stay I was given 150Mgs a day of the SSRI Zoloft........... I swear after three weeks it was like someone lifted a curtan from my face. Like a severe mental fever had lifted. I actually felt normal. Not medicated or high, but just normal. That first SSRI drug saved my life because I had a bullit in the chamber and it was at my head more than once with pressure on the trigger.

Understand that, I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS YOUR ISSUE, just sharing with you my experience with unknown symptoms like your having now.

Either way I think you should see a Psychiatrist to get evaluated. Maybe your not depressed, this could be from another issue, but keep it in mind as a viable possibility
