Apart from these,is there anything else one should do to help themselves to get away from depression?
Another doubt, will the supplements like vitamins especially B,minerals especially selenium , siberian ginseng, ginkgo biloba help in depression? It need not be a large role but atleast will it help in small scale?
What else one should do to help themselves to remain active i.e. to come out of depression..
Thanks to both of you.The information really helped me.
Homeopathy is not a remedy. The principle of homeopathy relies on the placebo effect. Homeopathy should be used in complementary with other evidence based medicine treatments as homeopathy used alone can be dangerous because if the lack of therapeutic effect or proof that the treatments is actually valuable (ie giving homeopathy to someone affected by a virus that would requires antibiotics is dangerous because we don't have no data other than the placebo effect that homeopathy is therapeutic). If you want to discuss non-science evidence based medicine then I would suggest you a redirection to the Alternative Therapies or Complementary forum. The homeopathy debates are growing largely and I can predict a complete removal of homeopathic products in pharmacies in a near future.
Yes it generally takes a month until you get the therapeutic effect from antidepressants. We call this the therapeutic lag. The principle underlying such principle is misunderstood and is still a mystery in neuroscience but it suggests that even tho you get a quick action of the drug, your brain chemistry needs to adapt and therefore, without the adaptation, the result is a non-significant therapeutic effect with instant adverse-effects. Receptors antagonists are supposed to act a bit quicker than the reuptake inhibitors which would support the theory.
Keep in mind that everyone is different and can react differently to different drugs.

It generally takes a month before you will have the full effect of any anti-depressant. Suggest you take meds for 4-6 weeks to and follow up with your doctor to determine (through blood test) if the medicine at a theraputic level and if you are gaining relief from your symptoms. Good luck!
