Acanthosis Nigricans Laser Treatment?

Hi Guys,

I have been diagnosed with a skin condition called Acanthosis Nigricans, which has got to do with the Insulin resistance in human body. The affected areas are my neck, face and armpits majorly. I am 5'8" in height and weighted 83 Kgs.

After consulting a dermatologist, I have been suggested some laser / peel treatments. They are as below,
1. Retinal Peel
2. Dermamelan Peel
3. Erb-yag laser / ND-yag laser

Before going ahead with that I need to know whether it is advisable to go for a laser / peel treatment for acanthosis nigricans or is there any simpler way to get rid of this condition?

All I know is food control and exercise will be the ideal way to go ahead. But the effect would be seen in a longer period of time in that case. Whereas with laser / peel treatment, you might see the effect in a few months. What should be considered then? Also is it guaranteed that acanthosis nigricans can be treated fully with any of the techniques?

Please suggest.
