Blotchy or skin discoloration

First I started out with a little spot that looks tanish color and turns redish when I bath or sweat. That little spot has turned into many more and have spread all over my chest to my shoulders and I noticed it on my bank now. It doesn't itch, no warmth/fever to it. It actually does not bother me in any way what so ever except its very ugly and I cant wear strapless or tank tops. Its spreading up my neck also. I do sweat a lot, but this started right before I started martial arts. So I know its not completely caused by my sweating. Though it does seem to get a little worse at times when I accessively sweat. More when I am outside in the florida heat working. I have used alcohol and it seems to help a little at times, never taking it away though, just lightening it a little. I have not switched laundry soaps, diets or anything in my life, I have always been active and in shape. Also if I take my nail across it its like the skin on top will come off. Kinda like when you have a sunburn and you peel. Well thats the best I can discribe it. Any suggestions on what I can use or do would be great. Hot baths seem to help just a tad, but I cant spend my life in a bath tub... unless I have a laptop and a chef in there with me :)

Thank you so much for your advice, thats exactly what I have. I tried just the generic wal-mart brand of Antifungal with Clotrimazole and its working great! My spots are disappearing and I noticed a difference the next day after having them for a year. After 3 days of using it I am able to wear a tank top again. The spots are almost completely gone and I apply it once in the morning when I wake up and once at night when I go to bed. You gave me the best advice and I thank you so very much for it, as I have been suffering with it for so long now and it is almost completely gone.

Hello,

From the symptoms it sounds like tinea versicolor. Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities.Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines.
Most cases of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.

I hope that helps.Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
