Can anyone identify a rash I have?

During this past summer, I noticed I had a strange rash on my left lower calf. I have since noticed it had seemingly grown up my leg, and now extends from the front of my ankle, across and up the left side of my calf, behind my knee, all the way up the back of my thigh, and stops just under the back of my hips. The rash is a line of pinkish brown spots that look like bruises. They do not hurt, itch, or have any sensitivity. They've been around for at least two months now, and I think they might be getting worse. Neither my college health department nor my normal physician knew what they were. The only medication I'm on is birth control. If it helps, I can post a picture of the rash and put a link in here for you all to view.
I have no idea what it is, but it's starting to freak me out. Does anyone know what it might be? Should I go seek out a dermatologist? Any feedback is helpful. Thanks!
