Chronic penile inflammation

I suffer from chronic inflammation at the shaft near glans for about 3 decades. I also have pain at suprapubic region and have to sleep prone with a ball underneath always. I also get pain and funny feeling at the tendon insertions esp at the lateral end in cubital fossae in both knees. Inflammation takes place even if I masterbated or used a condom. I thought there is Chr Prostatitis and took full course of antibiotics various kinds. I was told by a dermatologist that I suffer from Chlamidia infection and took a course of Doxycycline besides having been put on chemotherapy for 6 weeks. I had earlier taken treatment for Herpes Simplex ie Acyclovir full course. Nothing has helped so far. Yes, I also get nocturnal dysuria besides multiple streams, suggesting a chr gonococcal infection for which Norflox course was taken besides many other antibiotics. I'm frustrated since nothing seem to help. Can U help me?

Thanx for your kind advise. I'm already using Clotrimazole with beclomethasone without much relief. I shall ofcourse try out warm water treatment as suggested by you. My dermatologist had put me on Tab Fucanozole 150 mg besides topical without much relief. It is possible that the Tab I got through Army clinic was ineffective and I shall once again try out the ones available in the market. Thanx for your advise.

Hi,

This could be balanitis. Balanitis is inflammation of the glans penis. When the foreskin (or prepuce) is also affected, it is termed balanoposthitis.

Inflammation has many possible causes, including irritation by environmental substances, physical trauma, and infection by a wide variety of pathogens, including bacteria, virus, or fungus—each of which require a particular treatment.

Retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. Apply bacitracin (not Neosporin) for pediatric patients if bacterial infection is suspected.
Apply topical clotrimazole for adult men with probable candidal balanitis.

If the symptoms persist, you would need to consult your doctor.

Let us know if you need any other information.

Regards.
