Cobwebs & Head Mites

I have had a severe scalp condition for two years which has gotten worse and changed. I have been checked for lice and applied every lice cream and shampoo available. I have had several biopsies none of which revealed mites. In the past months I see cobwebs extending from my eyebrows to my eyes with a spider like object in it. The mites try to get into my eyes, especially at night. I have been to a infectious disease doctor who gave me several blood tests which revealed nothing My doctor think I am imagining or hallucinating and recommended psychiatric services. This is very depressing as I see no solution to this problem. Where do I find help ?

I thought it was bird mites for years. It is Demodex mites, or eyelash mites. It is called eyelash mites because that is where they crawl up. They infest the head, the crotch, the ears, the eyes, the urethra, and the entire body. They crawl up walls, and they infest beds, floors, electronics, furniture. These things are infesting everything. When someone is infested, they infest everything and everyone else. They are in more then one state, and they were brought to England.

My Dermatologist had ruled out Demodex mites. These mites are part of the cobwebs. Thanks for your reply.

Does anyone else see the things you see - your family or friends?

If you don't think it's hallucinations, then what will the appt with a psychiatrist hurt? If you aren't experiencing any psych issues, then the doctor can refer you back to the dermatologist, right?

If it helps, just view it as one step in your treatment plan. If it is something psychological or psychiatric, they can treat you. If it isn't, then you can put that suggestion to rest, and move forward, doctor's report in hand.

I hope you find relief soon. :)

No one can see the cobwebs/mites. They are close to the eyes but possibly be seen by use of a special light or magnification. I may have been exposed to bird mites from a old house. I am working with a counselor to deal with possible depression from this experience.  My dermatologist has no answer to this problem.
I don't know anything about bird mites, but if you need something examined on your eyes, have you seen an eye doc?

They get right up close and use magnifiers to look into the eye. If there was anything on your lashes, they'd see it.

Also, as a bonus, you get your eyes checked. :)

I've found that when I am struggling to get something diagnosed, I just have to follow all the doctor's suggestions, no matter how frustrating. Keep working with your counselor, for sure. Whatever the cause of this, having chronic symptoms is frustrating and can lead to depression.
Yes, I have been to my optometrist because at first I thought this was in or on my eyes. The tests did not show anything in or on my eyes. These parasites originate from my scalp.
could be fungal.  look into coccidioides.  they produce web like structures we cannot see, sometimes, unless there are many webs together
