Confirmed Male Yeast Infection -- Need Assistance

So I had a terrible breakout on my entire penis shaft that was extremenly itchy and red.  It began to flake and produce bumps along the rash that looked like poison ivy (without the fluid).  I had a primary care doctor take a look at it, she said it was NOT herped or warts.  She scraped a piece of the skin onto a slide, left for about 30 minutes, came back and said... "yep its a fungus."

SO... she prescribed me Grifluvin V 500 mg which I immediatly went to Walgreens and filled up the Rx for $50.00!  I then went home and read this:

"Grifluvin only treats skin infections of fungus, and does not treat YEAST infections."  I am obvioiusly rather upset about this, as I told the doctor that I can feel the fungus is not just on the skin, but inside of my penis and thruought my digestive tract.  I told her that I have itchy anus and can feel that when I eat sugary food, I simply feel yeasty.  I told her that I need a pill to treat systemic candida infection, as I could feel my digestive issues are related.

She prescribed me Grifluvin V 500 mg which treats SKIN FUNGAL INFECTIONS.... NOT YEAST INFECTIONS.

Im pissed.

Could someone on here who has successfully dealed with this provide some insight please?  I have a feeling I should be taking DIFLUCAN which clearly states that it is able to slow the growth of YEAST in organs... the interal area where I TRULY feel my skin condition is manifesting.  Meaning... I don't just have fungus on my skin... I have a yeast infection INSIDE of my body that manifests on the skin.

FML.

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for taking time to respond to my inquiry. I am still taking the Grisofluven tablets and am about half way through the month-long course.  I also talked to my doctor who prescribed me a 150mg Diflucan pill that I took in stead of one dose of Grisofluven.  It seemed to shock my body and there were some pretty obvious die-off symptoms.

Ok... so my questions are these:  Male yeast infections are uncommon.  Many of the men who get them have either diabetis or AIDS... I do not have either... been tested recently for both.  Other people who suffer have autoimmune disorders, and I have a family history of celiac disease and chrones disease + food intolerances.  Good chance that my immune system is not 100%.  SINCE male yeast infections are uncommon, and I receieved a biopsy diagnosis confirmation that it was indeed yeast:

1. Should I be concerned about things like esophageal candida ?  I have certainly had sensations of food being stuck in my throat before, and have had motility disorders with food... regurgitation, slight pain or soreness after eating.  Again...sensation of food being stuck is the main one.

2.  During my outbreak that was confirmed... I was having very very very itchy anus symptoms after defecating.  Like it was unbearable for a good 15 minutes afterward, and eventually subsided.

3.  When I eat lots of sugar, I feel itchy ALL OVER my body... my scalp, my head, my legs, my feet, my entire skin system.  Should I be concerned about systemic candida?  From what i hear, you know when you have systemic candida... u can't function.

4. I get tastes of fungally / musty odors in my mouth often, epsecially when I eat a normal diet.

5.  I've had Tinea Versicolor on my entire chest before, for an entire summer... I am PRONE to fungal infections... genetically, imunosurpressed... I dunno.

Should I be concerned about these things?  For about 2 years now I've had very abnormal digestive issues -- recall my family history -- and just an overall feeling of being very very yeasty under my skin.  Its hard to describe, but I am not prone to getting colds, the flu, none of that... But it seems like I am SUPER sensitive and prone to fungal infections.

Do you recommend any testing ?  Ideas?

Much Love,

T

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Griselfulvin is used to treat fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails that do not respond to creams/lotions. It does not treat infections due to bacteria or yeast. Antifungal medications work best when the amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level and along with this you can get a topical antifungal medicine prescribed.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
