Dealing with a scar from HSV-1 on my penis

Basically exactly one year ago, I contracted an STI and after getting tested, the result was HSV 1 IGG, TYPE SPECIFIC AB >58.00 H.

This is the context for my specific situation:

The way it worked with me is that initially there was a place on my foreskin that swell up over a few days like a pimple and had broken overnight. When I woke, there was a little pus and blood and after washing it in the shower, immense pain and it basically looked like an oversized pimple break maybe the size of a dime. It took several weeks or taking care of it to finally get it to heal enough to close and the pain to stop.

Since then, every one or two months I would have an "outbreak" where I would see one small, faint red dot in the scar and I would know to leave it alone, which would gradually go away after one week with no pain at any point.

So, the problem here is that one year later, the scar looks the same. There's no pain, but it's still very visible as if the area refuses to fully heal. It's a lighter colour that contrasts with my tan and also slightly concave. Before calling a dermatologist, is there any suggestion I could have here?

* in case more information helps somehow, I ought to have mentioned that there were a few more symptoms of the infection, like three of my fingers swelling up and over time having little dark marks appear around the glans.
