I developed redness on my face while living in Asia and had a biopsy while living there of my skin and was told that it was a natural overgrowth of cells (broken translation). However, when I returned I tried oral antibiotics for 3 months -killed my digestion.
It cleared slightly but not completely, the dermatologist said that it was rosacea. It never really was clear again. During my first pregnancy, the redness got quite bad. Two more pregnancies later, my face was red with bumps seeming to get worst with hormonal fluctuations.
I saw a TCM Doctor who gave me Chinese medicals which worked quite well but I have recently stopped because I just found out I am pregnant again. My family doctor is concerned about the current redness and suggests I should take Fucidin however, various medical forms say not to use while pregnant.
The redness/slightly bumped areas seems to become peely and dry. I do not use any hard cleaners on my face nor wear makeup.
I have been looking into Fucidin and came across two other conditions, I am wondering if anyone know how someone or doctor can tell between these three conditions?
Rosacea causes higher levels of dermadex on the skin which is most likely what I initially had, but is this because of imbalance of flora in the gut?
How can I tell if what I have now is more serious like impetigo?
And what is there real difference between rosacea and perioral dermatitis if you have rosacea around your mouth and nose?
Thank you for any advice or information anyone can share on these topics.
