Fungal v bacterial infection?

Hi would really appreciate help from a GP or someone who has knowledge or experience of this. How do fungal spots on/around the nose differ from bacterial/hormonal ones? Also if fucidin hasn’t worked on a spot/boil after several days is it likely to? And is it worth trying daktarin on a spot that has not responded to fucidin? Daktarin was prescribed for my 12-yr-old son for dry flaky soreness in folds of nose but he then got lots of small spots on the actual nose, on the same night I had applied daktarin to the folds. The spots were deemed bacterial so I was advised to apply fucidin to them. They have cleared with the fucidin (maybe coincidentally?) except one on the top of his nose which is more like two tiny blisters and is now quite red. This was there at the same time as nose dryness - before the small spots on the side of his nose erupted, seemingly all at same time. Also a little boil came up close to his eye which has calmed but not cleared (it is why I went ahead with fucidin as didn’t want it spreading in such a delicate area). So I am wondering, after little improvement after 5-6 days of fucidin, if these two last spots are in fact fungal? And if I should instead use daktarin?! Can you use daktarin and fucidin at the same time?! Or maybe after the next couple of days’ prescribed applications I should just go the natural route?!

If what you are doing is working, I would personally stick with that until proven other wise.  I don't think you can tell if it's fungal or bacterial for certain unless tests are run on it.
