My hands have been peeling pretty badly for about two years now. Its mainly on the fingertips, but when the fingertips dont peel, the lower fingers and palms peel. My skin is not dry, my hands actually tend to sweat. I have seem multiple derms and doctors, all who have given multiple and different opinions. Some think its general eczema, one thinks its a fungal infection, and one thinks its dyshidrosis. Its not dishydrosis, because my hands do not itch at all. Sometimes little white blisters form and peel, but a lot of the times the skin just peels like its dead and leaves my fingtips raw and very unpleasant to deal with, but they do not puss or ooze and itch, so i wouldnt think its dyshidrosis.
I have been prescribed augmentin antibiotic multiple times, and basically everytime my hands have almost or completely healed up for a couple of months which would lead me to think its an infection, but i dont understand why my hands would keep getting infected. When they do clear up, they will be fine for a month or two then just peel again.
Some steroid creams also help a lot. Augmented Betamethasone Diproprionate Ointment helps clear them up temporarily, as well as Clobetasol Propionate. Only temporarily though.
I thought it may be Exfoliative Keratolysis, but with that condition, steroid creams do not help, but they seem to help clear up my hands somewhat, so i almost want to rule that out, though my symptoms resemble this condition a lot.
I only shower once a day and have recently switched to Burts Bees shampoo to rule out any soap irritants, but they still peel. I dont work in any chemicals either.
I just want to have a correct diagnosis. Can anyone help me, please??
