Have red raw skin above upper lip.

I have really red and painful skin above upper lip. No blisters, just raw red skin. Lip balms only sting; nothing seems to soothe it or heal it. I do not lick lips. I have no blisters. Help!

I have now had this problem for almost two months.  So I am not thinking it has to do with anything I might of eaten. I tried Vaseline last night at bedtime. No difference this morning, but I will continue to apply it for a few more days, until I can see if it helps at all.

Thanks for your suggestions.  I really appreciate you taking the time to give me advice.

As long as that Vaseline  isn't burning like the other lip balms, do keep trying it- if it doesn't get better, do head to the doctor so they can get a better idea of what the cause is- heal up soon!
Thank You Purple!  I will keep using the Vaseline.  It does feel good and doesn't sting.

Do you eat spicy food at all?  Could you have irritated the spot with something you ate?  Have you tried Vaseline?
