Help figuring out what the dry skin on side of thumb is?

I have had a large chunk of dry skin around the edge of my thumb for a few years now, it’s now changed the shape of my nail (it’s now become wavy) and it’s painful to the touch. I’ve thought it was a wart however I’ve used at home wart remover quite a lot and it feels like I’m just putting myself through this pain for no results. It looks gross, it hurts if it’s touched, it splits and bleeds a lot.

Hello and welcome to the forum.  A few years is a long time to have something like that on your finger.  We suggest you get it looked at once and for all especially since it is uncomfortable.  While, of course, we can't know from here what is going on with you, one thing to look into is what is called hand eczema.  https://nationaleczema.org/eczema/types-of-eczema/hand-eczema/  It can create a bump or bumps like you describe.  It does normally itch. Does this itch?
