Red spot on the skin, in the pubic area

Hello, I have a red spot on the left side, in the pubic area. Sometimes it gets red, but sometimes the redness fades away. If I touch that part, the skin starts peeling and the zone becomes redder. Sometimes it itches, but if I leave it alone, it doesn't harm. The left side of the skin, in the pubic area is just normal. Can you please tell me what can this be? Sometimes it can get uncomfortable. Thanks very much.

P.S: I am a young, clean male.

Hello, and thank you for your reply. I really appreciate your answer. It didn't cross my mind about the possibility of contact dermatitis. I have done some research, I read several medical sources, and I concluded that I got Tinea cruris (jock itch)... So I got a cream Econazole that is meant to treat Trycophiton rubrum fungus that I think I got. I started the treatment 2 days ago, and I apply the cream on the affected zone 2 times a day. When I do apply the cream, I feel sometimes some itching, but after a while it stops. Since I started this treatment, it seems that the redness began to fade away, so I hope I get rid of it soon. I still don't know how I got this, since I did not have any skin contact with anybody. I will keep you posted on the evolution of this treatment. If it doesn't work out, I'll go see a dermatologist for sure!

Once again, thanks for your quick reply and for your time. All the best to you!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to contact dermatitis, allergies, nummular dermatitis or some form of dermatitis skin. Nummular dermatitis is a sort of eczema and allergic reaction is an important cause. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also wear cotton clothes and keep the skin sweat free. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
