I put lime on my lips and it peeled the protective layer of the lips

I put lime on my lips right after I exfoliated it and it was too harsh it peeled what I believe to be the protective layer of the lips and it feels raw and burns...I've been using honey, coconut oil and balm.it's been a week now and it's still tender and hasn't healed to normal it makes me scared I feel it might never be the same again. What do I do to get back my health lips

I guess the lime juice was just too acidic.  Wouldn't have thought it could cause that level of injury though.  Basically you have a chemical burn.  That stinks.  Was it an accident to put lime juice on the area?  I would guess you injured the top layer of your skin. Tender but WILL heal.  Remember that burns are in degrees based on how far they go into the skin.  You can always see a doctor for this and they'd probably give you ointment for it. But I would guess it will heal soon.
