Small mole on my ear has become bigger, redder and dry - should I be worried?

I've had (what I thought) was a small mole on my ear for a while now - when I looked back at it today, it has gotten bigger, redder and the skin looks drier and peeling.

The picture attached is from today when I had a look and noticed a difference. What could this be? Should I be worried?

Any mole or lesion that changes over time should be examined by a doctor.
