Is it possible to reverse a tan completely?

I'm an 18 year old, mixed female. I have noticed that my complexion seems to get a little darker after every Summer because my tan from the previous Summer never fades completely.

It takes a lot for me to burn, but I tan so easily that I can literally be outside in the late afternoon for two hours and be noticably darker when I get back home. But then it doesn't go away... If I get too dark, my natural lip color looks unnatural, and I don't like wearing makeup. I've tried aloe so far, but it doesn't help my skin fade to its natural, untanned complexion.
