Itchy burning rash on penis shaft and scrotum, turns to grey scab

I have been experiencing extreme discomfort for almost 2 months now. I went to the Dr. 2 months ago and she said is most likely a fungal infection and gave me cream to put on for two weeks. Once I stopped using the cream, I notice the skin on my penis become extremely dry and developing grey scabs. It has also created extreme itching sensation on my scrotum. Often find myself waking up in the middle of the night to scratching it in my sleep. I suffer from eczema in my elbows and knees and thought this may be some form of it, or even psoriasis. I desperately want to start on the path of recovery and not sure what actions to take anymore. I have another Dr appointment in 2 weeks. That was his earliest availability. Any advice will be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance.

You didn't say what the cream was.  I would try plain Lotrimin cream.  Oftentimes they give you a combo cream that seems to cause problems after it's stopped.  Wash all underwear AND socks in hot water with Tide and baking soda to kill the fungus.  Use tea tree oil on feet to make sure there is no yeast/fungus there or else you pass it back and forth by stepping into underwear.

Thank you for your response. She prescribed me Econazole. I put Lotrimin on scrotum last night and definitely experienced some relief from the itching. I am hesitant to put anything on penis shaft at this point. The skin is very dry with few scabs and I am really hoping my body can balance itself out. I will definitely try the baking soda, never heard of that. Thank you again!!
