I got a cyst on my cheek which left an open skin/wound. It kept oozing thin light yellow fluid which harden into a crust when it comes in contact with air.I let the liquid form crust/scab around the wound. Even after the honey colored scab formed, the oozing inside didn't stop. It kept oozing inside and would overflow if there are gaps in the scab. The scab came off after 4 days during shower and instead of flat skin there was a raised rash around the area the size of a quarter. Went to see a doctor and was diagnosed with erysipelas and I am taking antibiotic for it now.My problem is, the thin yellow liquid still keeps coming out from the edges, is this serous drainage for healing or infectious fluid which I shouldn't let crust? Basically, I want to know if I should let the fluid form a honey colored scab around my wound or keep it moist with neosporin and dab excess drainage off from time to time/wear bandage?
