Mature skin

I was just wondering if it is normal to have the sudden onset of a tan colored, pencil eraser size spot on external ear. I am 43 years old, caucasion female. Is this an age spot? Due to sun exposure?

Thank you for getting back to me. I just took another look at it now and it got darker. I will call a dermatologist on Monday. Thank you again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be a lentigo but due to your age, the possibility of any skin benign or malignant condition needs to be evaluated. Lentigo is a small, sharply circumscribed, pigmented macule surrounded by normal-appearing skin.

My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
