Moskito like bumps after weeks of itching goes black and reapears.

My 2yrs old son has those moskito like bumps since five month now. Doctors in my country are a bit weird, so We can be sure by now, its not scabbies (we have been pushed to rule out first, with those riddiculous creams for overnight) and Thats it. They dont know. It appears as a moskito bite that itches him for a month and than gets better (and blackish), only to reapear and start itching again. Always the same spots. On the belly, nipple, pubic area, behind the knee and on his triceps. I had the same bumps after swiming pool with him, but my wife was fine. Within two month mine were gone But his keep on comming. Its getting Bigger after his violent scratching it which Hes not able to stop few times a day. Posible causes are: 1) 1 month trip to India (4 month before the first appearence) 2) We had at home lots of caged mealworms (which may have had some mites) they served as a meal for an Agama, 3) We also spent few times a full day in chlorinated swimming pool and jacuzzi (after which I had a rash in the armpit and thighs and those bumbs too). 4)He has no vaccination at all

Thanks for a reply,
LN

It sounds like they may be bug bites of some type if you both had them- if you are no longer traveling and are still getting them, it's possible that it could be bed bugs and you brought them home with you in the luggage.  Have the doctors tested or looked into any other possibilities than scabies?

Thanks, But Bed bugs, unfortunately not. First We will see them in the bedroom, second my wife is not affected at all. Now it is just with my son and he is scratching himself moderately, but since 3 Month with 1-2 weeks gap. After scratching remain brown spots. No one knows. That is clear. Also someone told me it can be those mites from worms farm. If so We have a big problem. But which mites, I have no clue. Means the live below the skin But not as scabies do. Much less active, no borrows, no babies. Just by themselves at one spot. Terible!!!
This must be very frustrating!  You mentioned that yours went away- but your sons keep coming back, I wonder if the itching is causing the 'bite' (since it seems likely that is the cause) to not really heal all the way.

Bed bugs can be hard to identify sometimes, they can go a while without being noticed and not all people will have a reaction to them, which might be why your wife isn't seeing a reaction- but it could be that it's not bed bugs at all, that's tough to say.

Lice, fleas, chigger bites- those are all the possible bugs that I can think of that may cause a rash like this.  For now, I'd focus on trying to keep your son from itching the spots- if you can find some cream that will relive itch, try to place that on it and see if that helps things heal up.  It sounds like you have gone to the doctor a few times, but don't hesitate to keep going back, if you can to see if they can't get a better answer for you- sometimes it takes several tries to get a solid answer.
