It CAN be from Allodynia which means nerve pain. Sometimes the top crown on my scalp becomes so sensitive I can barely touch it.

I suffer from severe chronic classic migraines and with Allodynia a bunch of nerves get irritated in between the muscles, making it painful This usually happens to me in between migraines and not all the time. I get shots of Botox in my head, my neck, tops of my shoulders, my temples, and between my eyebrows, and it helps me.
Do you get migraines? Discuss it with your physician.
Good luck.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
There can be a small boil or abscess which presents as redness and warmth and tenderness to touch, fibromyalgia skin which presents with tactile allodynia or temporal arteritis if the temples are affected. It will be best to consult a doctor and get evaluated for these possibilities and get a biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
