My sunburn has turned into scabs and cracking skin

I got sunburnt a week ago and it has gone down but the remaining skin resembles that of an actual burns victim the skin is cracked and not peeling like normal (white and like flakes) more like actual scabs and underneath is very new red raw skin.
Should I see a doctor or can anyone recommend a cream?
TIA

Sounds like it was a pretty good burn- you can use after sun lotion, aloe vera gel, and things like ice packs if it's still feeling hot.  I personally would probably head to the doctor if it appears to not be healing.  You will also want to be careful of infection if you are seeing scabs.
