POst Inflammatory Hyperpigementation on lips???

Iv been having this issue with my lips since MArch 2009 now and its stil there. ITs a bronish dsciooration on the bottom and top of my lip...it looks like it is a suntan on my lip as my lips were pink and has gotten darker.

I went to the dermatologist and she said it seems like i had Allgergic Contact Dermatitis of the lips which has causes Post-INflammatory Hyperpigmentation. Has anyone heard of this? anyone had it? anyone know what i can do to get rid of it..

She basically told me that there is nothing i can do about this, she said to wait it out, but iv been patiently waiting and seems like nothing is happening. Please advise if you can help in any way possible

i have post inflammatory hyper pigmentation as well. it is due to,allergic contact dermatitis to your lipstick, lip balm or tooth paste, long term allergy leading to PIH. My dermatologist has given me creams for treatment and i do see results, but she told me that i will see proper results after 6 to 7 months as it takes time.i will advise you to stop using cosmetics and see a proper dermatologist who will give you some products for bleaching according to your skin type. its so horrible, i can feel your pain. good luck
