Paronychia

I had a 'non pus' paronychia after picking at a hang nail.  I noticed it right as it started so went right to the doctor. It was a pink bump with no pain and wasn't warm to the touch.  My primary put me on Keflex 500 mg 3 x's a day  for 7 days.  The bump went way down and the color went to normal within about 3 days but a bump can still be felt below the area of where the cuticle meets the finger (nailbed?).  Is it normal for the bump to take a while to go away?  I only soaked it for the first 2 days.

With the settling of the infection the residual thick area should resolve in a week or so. Should it persist do consult your doc.

One more day on the Keflex and the 'bump' is completely gone. Thanks again for your help!
