I'm a 32 year old female. I've had petechiae on my lower legs for a week. Last night I noticed they have greatly increased in number and are spreading to my stomach and arms. I'm also just about over what I'm assuming was a head cold that came on about the same time as the petechiae. What could be causing this? I'm pretty scared. Is it a virus? Vitamin deficiency? Could an IUD cause this? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.
