Pityriasis rosea

I believe I have Pityriasis Rosea and understand that it just needs to run it's course.  Is there anything that can be done to minimize the appearance of the rash (dry, red patches)?  I have an important event coming up and am desperate to find a solution.

Hi, I had this when I was 16, the only thing that worked was hydrocortisone cream - saw results within 24 hours! Before this I had been suffering from it for 4 weeks so it was a relief.
Go to your doctor and ask for it, it really helps.

I had it before.  Somebody told me to go to the tanning bed  a few times and it will go away.  I am so against tanning beds now because I had to have 2 skin biopsies (both benign) which put a scare in me.  I used to worship the sun and went to the tanning bed for special occasions.  I will say though it did work and got rid of the rash.
