Planter wart

My husband has what looks like a planters wart on the palm of his hand. But read that you can't get planters warts on your hands. It's round (white) with a pin point black center. It hurts, and he said he was going to slice it open. Any suggestions as to what this could be?

While planter warts are not going to happen on his hands. other types of warts can- if it hurts, I'd recommend taking a trip to the doctor to see what's up with it.
