How did you cure the rash? I have the same thing on my legs, thought it was bug bites on my ankle but it spread up my leg, then to the other leg. I tried Allegra and Clariton, another reason I don't think it's allergy, didn't touch it. Have had it for 6 or 7 days now, got some relief from triple antibiotic. The places I have been putting triple on look better but it's still spreading, only on lower legs though.
Thank you very much. It has gotten much better - the itching has subsided and the inflammation has gone down dramatically. I will definately check with the Dr. if it gets worse or recurrs. I appreciate your answer.
Any insight? Yesterday the really big red spots seemed to start healing and don't itch any more. But I keep getting more little bumps that are super itchy and they eventually weep clear fluid - which I think makes it spread.
I do not think it is bug bites. I am thinking an allergic reaction? But I don't want it to be some weird disease or something, lol.
Seriously the itching is horrible. I've tried hydrocortisone and calamine and even ice. I'm alternating with triple antibiotic and shower with antibacterial soap. I'm taking claritin every day. They only work temporarily and I usually need relief before the next time I can use the meds.
Should I go ahead and go to the Dr. or does it just need to run it's course? I'm wondering if a different allergy med (like Zyrtec) would work better?
Thanks anyone who can help!
One of the commonest causes of presenting such itchy rashes on the legs is insect bites and any arthropod bites. The other possibility is of a bacterial skin infection. You can take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. Although the bite may be itchy, avoid scratching it because you may damage the skin, and allow bacteria to get in, leading to infection. Continue using the calamine and wear cotton clothes.
If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done from a dermatologist.
