Red Mark on Penis Head

I have had a red mark on my penis head near the urethra for about 4-5 weeks.  I believe I received it from a brush burn from jeans or my underwear.  I did have unprotected sex, but I had this mark before i had sex.  I would not think it is an STD becasue no one was infected and I had this mark before.  I have been putting all sorts of creams and lotions on it like moisturizing lotions and anti-bacterial creams, but it is still there.  My penis keeps rubbing against my underwear, which the friction keeps irritating it when ever I move around a lot.  At times it looks like its getting better then it goes back to being really red and shiny whenver I am active or take a hot shower.
What do you suggest I do?

had the same problem, try going for a run it will desensitize it a little bit. also don't baby it. It is a lot more sensitive to the soft brushes. It'll heal but the red mark still might be there.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

It appears that the glans penis or penis head may have been constantly irritated. You may not need any creams or medications for this. Wearing underpants of light material such as cotton and avoiding wearing tight jeans and underwear may help. The creams and lotions may only cause further irritation. Wash the area with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil. Dry the area very well. You may use a water based lubricant or KY jelly over the area to avoid any constant friction with the cloth .  Discontinue KY jelly if further irritation ensues. If the burning continues, you may need to have this assessed by a urologist so that underlying infections will be ruled out.
