Red peeling spots on my penile glans

I've had red peeling rashes on my penile glans as well as on the my shaft under the head of the penis. It all started a week or two ago. I first noticed a red spot almost like a rash. As time progressed the spots shedded or peeled. I then let it heal but ended up masturbating and they went back to looking red. Then it looked like it was almost gone, and due to my hormonic self,  I madturbated again and they went back to normal. Then they look like they were getting better, but peeled again slightly. Through the day I do feel itchy sometime and feel slight pain, but never when I pee. At first I looked it up and I ears it was balanitis, pearly papules or herpes. I kept searching and read it could also be due to bad hygiene, harsh soaps or a fungal thing. I am scared it is something bad such as an STI or STD. Please help.

Also I have read it could be friction from masturbation. It still looks the same and the rashes also tend to be shiny.

As you have found, it could be several things- it's best to get to your doctor and have them look at it, for the best and most accurate diagnosis.
