i got ringworm back. how does it come back? i mean it is in the same spot when i first had it. the first time i had it, i went to the doctor. what do i do now for the second time?
Hello, I just wanted to know did you ever figure out what the cause was? I am experiencing the same symptoms. Were you able to recover from it? If so what was the method and how long did it take?
It isn't actually 'worms' as in creatures. It is a (harmless) species of fungus. Some people are more susceptible to it than others. Clean people do get it, like anything that is contagious. It isn't a "filthy" condition.
Treat it externally with anti-fungals and eat anti fungal foods like garlic, cloves the spice, chinese chives and bee pollen.
No problem. I'm glad you want to post after trying different things. It really does help people who are following your link. I'll check back. Good luck!
P.S. If I see a 28 year old man in a store and he has chunks of skin missing, I will say "Hi"!!!! LOL.
Well, the little buggers keep coming back :( Looks like I'm off to the doctors to ask for some antifungals to swallow. I'm sure this will knock them on the head. Just a note, I tried bleach, yes household, and it does a great job of getting rid of them, the only downside is that it tends to 'burn' them off with a few layers of skin included lol. Just wanted to thank you for your help. I really appreciate the time u spent helping me find solution. I'll post up on how the pills go so if others read up and have the same problem, they'll be able to find it here. Thanks again!
It could be you are just susceptible to ringworm. I read articles that said if a pet has it (though you say you avoid them) it's possible only one person in the family will get it. Unfortunately, ringworm isn't something that you can build immunity to. So you can get it again. Maybe it would be a good idea to go to the doctor and get antifungals by mouth. It would be great if you could figure out where you got this from. I'm sure you'd hate to get rid of it and get it back again. Don't you hate these kinds of problems. I had it about 4 years ago. I had three very itchy little pimples on my upper arm. I scratched, thinking nothing of it. They turned into the Olympic symbol - three nice rings intertwined! It took several weeks of oral antifungal (I think it was Nystatin) to get rid of the rings. But I never got it again! I got mine from gardening - the neighborhood cats pee in our bushes all the time. Hope you find the answer!
I wasn't diagnosed by a doctor, I just went into a pharmacy and spoke to a nurse there who looked at it and said it was a ringworm. She also said it has been going around lately. They do look exactly like them. I do do a bit of gardening. The problem is why doesn't anyone else in the household get them? I stay away from the cats and dog while the others allow them to sleep on their beds, but they all have never contracted any. As for tick bites, I haven't come into contact with any ticks that I know of. The way i could describe the ringworms, if thats what they are, is that they start out similar to a pimple. Then generally it dries out and the top comes off and bammo, it looks like a ringworm. I just noticed one today bellow my belly button and one on my forearm, just when the one under my under arm cleared up. If I can' find any solution then I guess I'll have to head to the doctor's. Thanks for your help, appreciated.
Were you diagnosed by a doctor? And if so, do you do the gardening? Cats drift around and use the bushes to do their business, so that's a hotspot to pick up ringworm. Other than that, I know eczema can mimic ringworm sometimes. And Lymes disease from tick bites, when faded in the middle, can resemble ringworm - and the rash disappears on its own (though I doubt that's what you have). I don't know if your latest rash is still there, but if it is, make an appt. with a dermatologist to get a definitive diagnosis. Hope this helps.
