A few months ago, I believe due to either a cold or allergies, the skin under both of my eyes became a little swollen and puffy. I took some medicine to reduce this and it seemed to go away after a few days. Soon after, the skin under my left eye was totally normal but then I noticed that the discomfort under my right eye remained. It doesn't look terribly bad--in normal light it just looks slightly blue and baggy, but in other certain lights there is a very noticeable circle under the eye, almost as though it could be sunken in due to dehydration and/or aging. I only just turned 21, however, and if it were due to aging I do not see how it would develop so quickly and why this is only happening under one eye. I have been trying to drink plenty of water, put cold compresses on the area, and avoid putting too much pressure on the right side of my face, but after three months nothing has seemed to change--the skin under my eye still feels very uncomfortable to me. What do you think the true cause of this could be, and what could I do to make it go away? Thanks in advance.
