Tiny raised brown spot on index finger

A couple of weeks ago, the outer side of my index finger was really itchy for a couple of days. I then noticed a tiny white colored raised bump appeared where the itching was. After another 2/3 days this little spot turned brown. It's been almost 2 weeks and it is no longer itchy but this little brown spot remains there. And I mean, it is very small, like pinprick sized, but doesn't appear to be fading and is still raised. Does anyone have any idea of what this sounds like? I feel I should go to my doctor, but it is so tiny that it seems totally trivial, but am a bit concerned that I could leave it and it starts to grow.
