Unoticable Bump Under The Skin

Hello everyone, hopefully I can get some insight on my problem...

The past week i've been dealing with a hard lump underneath the skin located in my lower back. It's embarrassing to say, but it's actually located about an inch down inside of my butt-crack and is on my right cheek, almost but not quite, in the center of the crack.

It's about the size of my thumbnail and it hurts when I sit down or lay on my back. I had my mother look at it so see if it was a pimple or a boil, and she said she couldn't see anything that looked wrong. She couldn't even visually notice a bump of any sort. However, when I rub my finger down on the area I can feel the bump and know there's something there that isn't suppose to be. It isn't squishy and feels hard-like. It isn't noticeable from the top of the skin like I mentioned. It feels like it's clear at the bottom of the skin.

I first noticed it about a week ago on Saturday morning when I went for a car ride with my father. It hurt so bad, much like the feeling of when you bruise your tail bone from falling on your butt real hard. But the days before this I didn't notice anything nor could I feel any pain from what I remember.

Sometimes I will get, what I believe to be, swollen lymph nodes behind my ears. They become very painful much like a serious pimple but clear up and go away after a week or two. I'm praying this is the same thing I have right now on my lower back.

I've also had intense bouts of diarrhea and constipation, and have been "pushing" real hard when going to the bathroom. Could my problem be hemorrhoidal if possible? Also, I work in front of the computer a lot and sometimes plop down real hard into my chair. Could I have possibly bruised my tail-bone thus causing the lump? Is this where my tail-bone is even located? Or could is be from sitting down too much?

My plan was to wait for a couple weeks and see if it clears up. Or if it continues to get larder or doesn't go away then go see the doctor. I'm praying it's not cancerous and i'm hoping it's not a cyst because I heard those are extremely painful to remove...

Does anyone have an idea of what my problem may be? Any insight would be most appreciated!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
From the symptoms it can be a boil or a cyst. A boil, also referred to as a skin abscess, is a localized infection deep in the skin. A boil generally starts as a reddened, tender area. Over time, the area becomes firm and hard. Eventually, the center of the abscess softens and becomes filled with pus. Finally, the pus "forms a head," which can be surgically opened or spontaneously drain out through the surface of the skin.

Apply warm compresses on the boil and keep the area clean. Drainage of the boil is done only when it becomes soft and forms a head. Take some over the counter pain reliever and consult a doctor for examination and antibiotics prescription.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

Thank you for the reply. It really worries me because it's located under the skin and isn't visible from the top of the skin. If it was visible then I wouldn't be so worried.

not quite sure on what it would be would suggest to see a dr. while it may be cancerous it can also be something simple like you mentioned a cyst or a bruise.or even...a really painfull underthe skin pimple~ i have had them before on my behind and they were painful.. your question about cysts.i have had one removed (i am 21) and it was painless! all they did was freeze the area and snip it off didnt feel anything. it was nothing. best luck.
