Upper lip infection

I've already posted here but didn't get much response so I am trying again. I also have photos to help explain what I mean.

I'm a 23 year old man and the skin above my upper lip is really not pleasant looking. I think it stems from constantly shaving when I was growing up, since I was paranoid about how dark and thick my upper lip hair came in. I tried shaving in the opposite direction and that made things worse. I began tweezing but still- it looks awful, like it is infected. The skin is red, irritated looking and sore- like a streak above my upper lip that looks like a moustache. I've booked an appt with a dermatologist but can't get in for a month. I am hoping in the meantime I can try to get some suggestions on how to possibly alleviate this problem, it's causing me alot of anxiety and distress, especially in my social life. I'm scared that I've caused irreparable damage to my skin.

Here are some photos:

Any suggestions? I am getting desperate and very depressed over it. I've never seen this on anyone before, and it's freaking me out.

I have thew exact same thing.  I wake up to a yellowish crust.  I shower and the crust comes off leaving small open wounds from which a clear fluid comes.  this cycle has been going on for 2 months now.

Could it be seborrheic dermatitis? Anyone know?
