What Is Biting Me?

Hello,  This is not an emergency, but I was just wondering if anyone has any information on what this could be?.

Last week, I got what I assumed was a bug bite on my leg. It was really itchy. It was raised up like a red bump. It actually hurt to scratch it. I tried putting some neosporin on it, but that didn't relieve the itching. I checked my bed & even washed my sheets. I didn't find anything. Yesterday, I noticed another bite on my arm. Now, I know something is in here chewing on me at night. If it is a spider, I have no idea how to find it, but I certainly want to make sure that it isn't a dangerous type. I know there are some species that can cause severe symptoms. Not necessarily fatal, but can make one very ill. I also have pets, so I don't want them getting bit. Also, what can I use on the bites to relieve the itching? It *****! Thanks for any info you can provide...Is a certain type of insect prevalent in the fall months in California?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These bite like marks can be due to contact dermatitis, allergies or due to insect bites. You can take some antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin. Although the rash may be itchy, avoid scratching it because you may damage the skin, and allow bacteria to get in, leading to infection. You may also need topical and oral steroids which are available under prescription. Also wear cotton clothes.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
