What is a possible cause of my unknown rash ?

For the past 5 years I've experienced on and off outbreaks of a rash that mimics eczema but is still unknown to me. The rash ONLY appears on the inner portion of my calve and back of my knees. It appears starting with a small red dot that spreads in a triangle or square pattern before it becomes a raised red rash that's hot to the touch with my skin occasionally cracking open. It doesn't flake and responds to unscented lotions and other treatments for dry skin and eczema but also is worsened by these products. Changing laundry detergents, soaps, lotions etc has not helped me. It also appears in any season and away from animals. I'm unsure what it could be it's very painful and annoying to deal with

This might not be eczema, it doesn't really sound like it is to me- for a more certain diagnosis, you will need to get into your doctor to have them look at the rash.

I plan on it and am currently trying to get scheduled in. I'm just hoping to get a lead or similar issue to have a starting point for testing
