What is it?

Ok on my perineal area I have a small growth.  Can you have a hemorrhoid  or a skin tag in the perineal area?  This stands up like a mole, it doesn't look like a wart.  I am not sexually active so I know it's nothing like that.  My question is can you have a hemorrhoid or skin tag in that area between and can a skin tag look like a mole?

Well it doesn't itch or cause me pain....however it does get irritated when I wipe.  This does not have a stalk.  This is flesh colored.  It's to the left of my anus.

Hi,

Yes skin tags may occur in the perineal area and are then called anal tags if they occur near the anus. Hemorrhoids are found in the anorectal area and  usually present with overt bleeding when one passes stools. The bleeding that comes with hemorrhoids is usually not profuse and appears to be bright red. Is this applicable in your case?

Skin tags are skin colored and usually appears to have a stalk. They should not be discolored. Moles also occur in the perineal area and  this may be true in your case.

Has this been present for quite some time?

I suggest that you have this initially evaluated by your dermatologist .This may not be something urgent however , if there is associated pain and itchiness then further evaluation is necessary.
