Thank you both! These answers have taken some stress off my shoulders. But a few more questions. The swelling has gone down a lot since i had popped it which i feel good about in a way. It is still somewhat there. Its very little and has what seems like a scab or something on the top of it. It does look like there is a hair coming out of it but i am worried again because Sunday afternoon i had found out that i had some sort of blisters on the top of my gums. Now i have had these before. Sometimes i accidentally stab myself with my toothbrush and this happens which i had just brushed my teeth when i had found them but i am still worried. I did donate blood a couple weeks ago and i have just today gotten my results back. It said what my blood type was but would they have been able to pick up any trace of an STD? I am just hoping that i might be thinking to much about the situation but i am scared to tell my mother about it and go see a doctor. Does anybody have any idea if it could be an STD or not. I know its over the internet but please i would love some more advice before i talk about it with my doctor
I am not a MD, but I am a dermatology cert RN. I agree with the above post. It does sound like folliculitis.
CLn BodyWash, is uniquely designed for skin prone to eczema, acne, infection and folliculitis. Preserved with sodium hypochlorite, CLn BodyWash offers the effectiveness of a bleach bath with the luxury of a gentle skin cleanser.
Designed by dermatologists, this non-drying formulation can be used on compromised or sensitive skin without causing irritation or dryness. It also reduces the appearance of redness, dryness and scaly skin associated with eczema (atopic dermatitis) and is safe for use on children 6 months of age and older.*
http://www.clnwash.com I do not work for this company but I thought I would share this with you. We sell it in our office and have seen remarkable results. I will be honest you can get the same effect by adding a cup of regular household bleach to a full bathtub of water (soak in the tub for about 15 to 20 mins). This product is more gentle on the skin and less time consuming. The CLn product only needs to be used 2 to 3 times a week and replaces your soap on those days, so it won't add to the time it takes to shower or get ready. With folliculitis you could cut use down to only when you are experiencing a flare (seeing the bumps).
Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like folliculitis. Folliculitis is the inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The condition may occur anywhere on the skin but is more common on chest, shoulders and thighs. It starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph).
It presents as red pimples with a hair in the center of each one. The pimples may have pus in them, and they may itch or burn.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Sorry i spelled a few things wrong. But another thing is the bump is around an area that has some pubic hair. I examined it a bit and it seems that there is a hair within the bump. It has also gotten what seems like to me a little swollen. I dont if this is a bad thing but like i said i need answers as soon as possible
