Thank you for bringing this up...Ive had this for a while now (I'm 13) but I never really brought it up. Im no doctor but I could say that taking showers right after swimming really helps with me since the chemicals in the pool irritate my skin. But that usually seems to help ( plus you get the chlorine smell out.
Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but it sounds like irritant contact dermatitis.Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Wash the skin with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat it dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort.
If the irritation persists then pls get it evaluated from a dermatologist.Urethritis has to be ruled out.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
May be to do with the Ph,salinity of the water.Cleanse with tapwater be all that may be required
I am not a doctor and also not sure if it's related to pool chemicals, but I've found that in both chlorine and saltwater pools, I encounter this problem when I wear swimsuits with mesh.
This happens when I do a lot of bobbing in the water (up and down movement,) whenever I swim for a bit, dry off, then get back in, (which dries out the skin and makes it more sensitive,) OR when I swim for a particularly long time.
The best solution, in my opinion, is to invest in meshless swimsuits!
Hope this helps!
