Will my skin discoloration clear up?

Dear Sir/Madam,

My personal physician prescribed triamcinolone 0.1% cream to treat a fungal/yeast infection of my groin and armpit areas that I have been suffering from for the last two years. I have been using the cream for a few weeks now and I have noticed slight discoloration of the skin in the areas I have applied the cream. I have stopped using the cream as a result. Will the skin discoloration clear up? If so how long will it take?

Thanks,

hello Doctor,

Thank you for the response, and your invaluable feedback. The discoloration is hypopigmented (light). I stopped using the cream about 2 weeks ago and I have noticed that the natural coloration is coming back. I hope this trend continues. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you Doctor,

Hello,
Please elaborate on the discoloration whether it is hyperpigemnted( dark) or hypopigmented( light). Causes and treatment options for both are different. If it is hyperpigmentation, then fixed drug eruption needs to be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
