Lip pain/peel, sensitivity

I have been to derm. where he tested me for allergies, and test came back neg.  Yet I continue to have issues with my lips..  they get very sensitive, somtimes I will get lil red bumps outlinging my lips, but lately they r peeling with one spot, in the middle of my bottom lip, being the worst spot and I can see .. not a whole, but an indentation, where its deeper then the rest of my lips...The pain and or sensetivity will get so bad, its difficult to drink from a glass, let alone a bottle of water.  I can share more of my health pass, if you can guide me here.

I checked my mutli vitamin.......  it has vit. B1 and B12....  I'll also add that ive tried the Elidel, with no postive affect.  My lip skin pigment goes beyond my lipline while the pain, sensetivity, peeling  is getting bad to worse.....  I havnt kept a record of how long or how often it lasts......but its too long, like months, and couple times a yr...I do have to use a lip balm all yr round...  I use the unmedicated "Burts Bees" on a regular basis.  The medicated anything is just too painful.   Just thought I'd give u that much more before I try another Dr Derm.
Thanx again Dr Kaur, for your time

Thank you for your reply.  I take a multi-vitamin every day which includes vit B.  Do you think I should add an additional vit B?

Thanks again!

Hello,
Firstly, It can be due to vit B deficiency. Take some vitamin B complex for some days and see if your symptoms improve.
Secondly, it can be due to atopic dermatitis or eczema. Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases.Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
